Also, I am just a player in game since release, and I am in the process of uploading all the main areas of game, so new players interested in AoC can see content of the mass depth and vastness of the world of hyboria. I’ve been talking to scorpe and vaca about possibly doing some content films with their roleplayin’ aoc characters while their episodes are waiting to go up here on machinima’s site. Machinima and the outerrim guys rock. They have created the best series on the net in my opinion.

25 level Twink Players camp tortage until their pvp is tier II or III in white sands and underhalls. I think funcom should change that and cap the level to tier I in tortage, because new players run into those players not knowing they can get around them, and then assume the whole game is that way, which it is not. I just avoid white sands and underhalls (daytime) when leveling a new character. It gives off a misconception about all pvp and inbalance of classes in aoc to beginning players.

II think pvp is pretty balanced, although you have to remember when you get stomped by a lower level, which does happen, they may have a higher PVP tier than your 80 level. My three mains are a 80 demo, 80 pom and a 78 conq. I am on cimmeria a pvp server, but I am mostly a pve player. New players have a hard time understanding that pvp tiers count more in pvp than levels, and you can get beat by any character type in game, there is no perfect template.

Yea the most often used tactic against necros, since they summon a lot of pets, is to go right for the necro. Npc’s go right for the necro as well so necros in game are kiters. The game balance in my experience, each character has at least one bane class they have problems with, and players ability with their experience in game counts more than the class you play. Which means really good necros, and really bad pvper necros. Depends on the player and which class he feels comfortable with.

Well i guess i never thought about the level difference but i was more wondering about the fact that the necromancer can summon like 8 or 10 zombies and completely swarm a single guy and kill him/her in less then 3 seconds and clear mobs away with little problem, when i look it like that it does seem pretty overpowered but since i know almost nothing about the game i can only assume there’s some sort of a catch.

P.S. Love the series so far can’t wait till the next one. =D

Equinox i’m changing from WoW to AoC and i heard that the classes were pretty ballanced like you said, but i also heard about the Necromancer pets and somethings about the dark templar, which unballance a bit the PVP. Are those things that are not such a big deal and the PVP can still be balanced?

  10. by EquinoxWarriors, on December 15 2009 @ 8:22 pm

The character types are all pretty balanced. Brian the necromancer is a 80 for the movie. Same with scorpe. Vaca was around 34 or so. I was an extra in one of the two new episodes they were making in poitain, last month on the cimmeria server. I can’t wait for the new episodes to come out. It was a lot of fun doing that. Great series!

I don’t know anything about this game but is the necromancer really that strong? He seems pretty overpowered or is that just for the movie?

Haldamir1804 the music is from 24 songs from the Age of Conan Soundtracks in the actual game. The CD soundtrack can be attained when you buy the collector edition of Age of Conan. It is an amazing cd, and I use it on my Age of conan content movies on my channel as well. The actual soundtrack at 3:47 is called Hamlets of Aquilonia, and each song is anywhere from 1:30 to 3:50 in length and most are 3:30 in length. It is a great cd. I hope they do the same for the expansion as well.

I got to 80 shortly after launch of AoC only to realize there wasn’t much to do…
I’m thinking about coming back, do you guys think it’s a good time to come back as a level 80 in terms of things to do? Raids? PvP? Items?
